Simon Kidston describes the 2008 Villa d'Este Concours d'Elegance, an event on which he commentates. This year the star of the show was the incredible streamlined 1938 Mercedes-Benz 540K Autobahnkurier owned by veteran collectors Arturo and Deborah Keller.
Harley's Second Hispano Honeymoon -
February 2008, Paris Rétromobile time to be precise, was the deadline Nick Harley set himself to ready his recently acquired 8-litre Hispano-Suiza H6C Sportsman's Coupé. Ready it was, and following 'Retro' Harley commenced a Grand Tour of France, enjoying fine wines and culinary fare before crossing the Alps into Italy - experiencing the Villa d'Este Concours d'Elegance depite not 'being in concours condition.' 3500km from its Paris start, the magnificent car finished its first 'Honeymoon', on the Ligurian coast.

As a prime mover behind the RAM-Fiat marque, and a keen Formula Junior driver of the time, he was eager to enter the forthcoming FJ Gran Premio in the 'toe' of Italy.
