It's now the 1950s and Tony Marsh has progressed from Trials in a Dellow to his first hat trick of wins in the British Hill Climb Championship. He has also won the inaugural British Formula 2 Championship, while actively racing a sports-racing 'Bob Tail' Cooper. Due to these successes a drive ensues in a Lotus Elite at Le Mans in 1960. Paired with John Wagstaff, Marsh wins the Index of Thermal Efficiency and the generous prize money of £2,250. Formula One follows, with good placings in a Lotus followed by less successfull outings in not one but two ex-works BRMs...

1959 US GP Sebring -
Tony Brooks replies to comments made in Joel Finn's recent book about one of the title-deciding races of 1959. Well-known for being unhappy with cars that were likely to fail mechanically, Brooks always gave 100% in vehicles 'fit for purpose' - as his six World Championship GPs from 21 starts clearly shows.
