The Monaco Grand Prix -
by Neville Hay

The world's most famous grand prix event will take place once again this month at the home of the 'beautiful people', Monaco on the Côte d'Azur. The scene of many famous battles and incidents in the past, Neville Hay tells the story behind some of them, including the notorious first-lap pile-up in 1957 when Moss, Collins, Hawthorn and Brooks were involved in an accident caused by brake failure on Stirling's Vanwall. Fangio managed to magically steer around the melee and won the race from a struggling Brooks in a damaged (and clutchless) Vanwall.
