"Bubbles" 1935 Rolls-Royce - by Dick Francis & John Mayhew
John Mayhew, the owner of the famous Rules restaurant in London's Covent Garden, had just bought a Rolls-Royce 20/25 Shooting Brake from the USA. Named "Bubbles", after one of the car's previous owners (a member of the Wrigley gum family) it's used for shooting parties on the Rules Estate up in the High Pennines. Resplendent in its Olive Green over Old English White colour scheme, the car was re-commisioned and restored by The Carrosserie Company (UK) Ltd in County Durham.
Martin Morris 1931-2006 - The Editor pays tribute to the life of one of the British historic racing's most familiar figures, Martin Morris. Best known for his exploits in the Jaguar D-Type 'OKV 3' and ERA R11B 'Humphrey', Morris, who died in March, won no less than 10 VSCC Seaman Trophies.
B.Bira Conclusion - Neville Hay tells the final part of the life of the celebrated racing Thai Prince. Having retired from active competition, Bira returns to Thailand and pursues his other interests including sailing and flying. He represented his country at sailing on a number of occasions, the final one being 1974. He spent his final years in London and died in 1985.
Motor Racing with Bob Gerrard - Susie Palethorpe (then Susan Vale) was lap scorer, timekeeper and general assistant to the Leicester garage owner in the 1950s. She tells The Editor of the motor racing scene at the time, including life with Peter Collins, Mike Hawthorn and Stirling Moss.
