Raymond Baxter Interview Part I - The Editor
Familiar to generations of British motor racing fans as the voice behind racing commentaries pre-Murray Walker, Baxter was of course a highly skilled and decorated Spitfire pilot in WW2. In this extract from his interview with The Editor he describes his early days in training for the RAF, as well his war service and the time in 1946 when, as a newly-married (potentially soon to be unemployed) officer, he is offered a position with the Forces Broadcasting Service.
