Bugatti - Tim Dutton
Bugattis have been the focus of the Dutton family's attention since the late 1920s. Tim's father Ivan, a well-known racing driver of the '60s and '70s, re-invented himself as one of the world's leading experts on restoring and racing Bugattis after a chance meeting with a Type 43 Bugatti at Coys of Kensington in the late 1970s (in the company of the British actor and scriptwriter Jeremy Lloyd). In fact Ivan's father had acquired a Type 35, dismantled, just before the war.

In his article, Tim runs through the various types, giving brief driving impressions and suggestions as to their suitability for different purposes. He sums up the intricate engineering of the French cars as "Why use one big bolt when you can make something infinitely prettier with twelve small ones!".

Robs Lamplough Racing Reminiscences IV -
1970 brings Robs the opportunity of buying some of the older racing cars from BRM. On arriving at Bourne he is disconcerted to see Neil Corner sitting outside Louis Stanley's office with clearly the same idea! Happily, Corner is more interested in the P25 front-engined, and P57 rear-engined Graham Hill World Championship cars than the more modern machinery Robs has his eyes on. After a little negotiation he becomes the proud owner of two F1 cars from 1968, a P133 and P126. Robs later buys a P25 himself and becomes involved with the fledgling Historic Grand Prix Cars Association.

Coppa Milano Sanremo - Kirk Rylands
Travelling as part of a TOPS organised party from the UK, Rylands describes the 2,815 miles round trip in his Jaguar XK140.
