Aston Martin meets James Bond 'Goldfinger' - Michael Ashley, having completed a management course at the Ford Motor Company, was a recent recruit to Aston Martin's Press and Public relations department at the time of the James Bond DB5 in the latest Cubby Broccoli thriller 'Goldfinger'.
With the enviable task of taking 'the car' around the world's most glamorous locations, Ashley describes visits to the USA (New York's '21 Club' and LA's Beverly Hills Hotel) and Germany, where he meets 'Goldfinger' himself, the larger than life actor Gert Frobe.
Surrounded by beautiful girls, champagne and fine food, Ashley almost becomes 'James Bond' himself!
Austro-Daimler - Johnnie Green describes the rare motor cars produced before WW2 that were extensively raced and had the honour of connections not only with the Daimler family, but also with Dr Ferdinand Porsche.
Music on the Piccolo Madonie Part II - Geoff Willis continues his story of the famous Targa Florio course in Sicily. This month he looks at some of the last races, such as those won by Bandini/Vaccarella in a Ferrari P2, and the various late '60s Porsche victories like Vic Elford's in 1968. He also drives the circuit as it is today.
The Editor Interviews John Young - Conclusion - The final part of the extensive reminiscences of John Young, the 1950s racing driver and garage-owner. Young describes some more cars he has owned, that include such varied subjects as a BMW 507, a Maserati 250F, and a very rare Rolls-Royce Phantom I Experimental-Style Sports Tourer.
The 2004 Geneva Motor Show - Neville Hay reviews the recent Geneva Salon. Cars present number Aston Martin's newly-announced DB9, the Mercedes-Benz CLS, and the new BMW 5-Series Touring.
