The greatest Grand Prix car ever? - Alfa Romeo Alfetta 158/159 - Ed McDonough drives Carlo Vogele's Alfetta GP car, (the only example in private hands), prior to its appearance in Willie Green's capable hands at Goodwood.
The history of the car is detailed, together with driving experiences of one of the world's most exotic racing cars.
Centenary of Manx Motorsport - Neville Hay attended the 100th anniversary of motorsport on the Isle of Man. TT Sunbeam, TVR, Bentley and Vauxhall 30/98 were just some of the cars set off again over the original course that brought motorsport to the island.
Andrew Hedges Interview Part II - 1962 sees the amateur racing and rally driver at the Targa Florio in Sicily for the first time. In 1965 he finishes 11th overall paired with Paddy Hopkirk in a Dick Jacobs MG Midget Coupe, and in 1966 he's in a works MGB with John Handley (more usually found behind the wheel of a Mini Cooper circuit-racer). With another team car driven by Timo Makinen/John Rhodes, the MGB drivers finish 1st and 2nd in the 2-litre class.
Hedges was also a regular competitor in the Tour de France (again MGB-mounted) and was as high as 4th place at one point in 1963, beating many regular entries from Ferrari and Porsche. Sadly his race that year ended in a serious accident that kept him from racing for a while.
'Dear Connoisseur' - The Editor, Charles Harbord, recounts his early summer trips that include the Pau Historique race meeting, the 2004 Louis Vuitton Concours at Waddesden Manor, and the combined VSCC/HSCC meeting at Silverstone. He also finds time to visit the Christie's Auction at the Jack Barclay Showroom in London, and looks ahead to the final Grand Prix de l'Age d'Or at Monthlery and the 2004 Goodwood Festival.
